It’s a cover of one of my favourite songs of all time – I Get Around by The Beach boys This one is done a little differently than the others. The harmonies and a kick, snare and hi hat were recorded and setup to be triggered by the pads on the midi trigger pad. I then trigger them, basically playing myself live to create the track whilst singing and adding more beats live. It’s still all live! This is the ninth single off my debut album Future Loops, a live, studio album that I have released through videos on youtube. Pioneering beatboxer THePETEBOX one of the world’s finest human beatboxers, and has spent the past year crafting a whole new approach to using his beatbox skills to create music. His live show is more that of a full band and sees him creating fully crafted songs as well as demonstrating his world class beatbox skills. Creating each layer of his tracks live using a loop pedal THePETEBOX’s shows lead the audience through a journey of real time music production which builds up and delivers a full frequency spectrum of sound, from deep bass, to high pitched trumpets, to multiple vocal harmonies – all made with his mouth!

Here’s the second video in my ‘Home Filmed’ series. It’s made using two Korg Kaoss Pad KP3’s linked together which are effects processors/loopers/samplers all built into one. You can record in a sound which can loop automatically as well as record in a sound to trigger as and when you want. It’s a lot of fun and a good way for you guys to see exactly how they work as i’m going to be using them quite a bit from now on. It’s all vocal, sometimes using my sounds to manipulate the effects in the Kaoss Pads to create a certain sound. Remember it’s all made in one take, everything performed and recorded live and all made with one microphone and my mouth!
