whistle Scratch

Description Some beatboxers have really mastered this technique that enables you to scratch and beatbox at the same time. Method 1. To make this sound your top lip should overhang your bottom lip. Dukebox describes it as having ‘granny lip’ – imagine you have no teef! 2. With your tongue placed in the gap between your lips (without touching) you should be able to breathe out channeling air under your tongue to make a whistly airy noise. 3. You can change the shape of the whistle by moving your lower lip to expose your front lower teeth and gum. For more tutorials visit www.humanbeatbox.com

Beatbox tutorial – Electro scratch

www.fattonybbx.com The electro scratch is my favorite scratch because it can sound very similar to the Abra scratch (commonly called the “crab scratch”) but A) you don’t look like a moron doing it, and B) I don’t hate it with the vengeance of an angry squirrel. Yep, you read correctly, I hate the Abra scratch. Far too overrated a sound, it’s almost impossible to do in a beat without completely destroying the power of your sounds, and everybody loves it to the point of despair. ANYWAY! This is a very fun sound to drop into beats, particularly faster beats. To make the sound 1 – Whisper the word “chewy” 2 – That’s… pretty much it. Also try the words “cherry”, “cheery”, and “sherry” 3 – To put it into beats, replace hi hats with the scratch. It works well with the inward K as well. The shirt I’m wearing is from www.mic-ware.com, by the way – I highly recommend you look at some of their threads, they are, as they say in the beatboxing world, “bloody awesome”. Beatbox tutorial – Abra / crab scratch (guest hosted by LuckeyMonkey)

www.fattonybbx.com I don’t like the Abra scratch but it seemed that every other message I received was requesting a tutorial for one. I really don’t like the scratch at all. I don’t like how it sounds, I don’t like that everybody thinks it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread, I don’t like anything about it. I didn’t want to do an Abra scratch tutorial. So I didn’t. This is my girlfriend, the incredibly talented LuckeyMonkey. It’s her first beatbox tutorial as well, and I may well ask her to do some more in the future. Check her out at http – subscribe, check her videos, etc. The Abra scratch is also commonly called the crab scratch, finger scratch, and transformation scratch. To make the sound: 1 – Make a kissy face 2 – Put your finger against your lip (or, indeed, any part of your hand / arm / foot) 3 – Inhale whilst breathing words like “too” or “tooka” 4 – Use uvular oscillation and clickrolls to add rolls to the scratch 5 – Put into a beat 6 – Note that there are a massive variety of ways you can do this sound. The finger and thumb method described is the most common when it comes to putting the sound into a beat because it’s possible to do it whilst holdinga microphone.
