Musical Mammal @ La Respuesta in Puerto Rico with DJ Velcro!

1 of my performances in Puerto Rico, @ La Respuesta, the premier hip hop club on the island. My cousin, DJ Velcro had me perform in the middle of his set. I did lots of classic covers, including White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army, Debbie Deb’s Weekends Were Made for Fun, East Flatbush Project’s Tried By Twelve, Salt N’ Pepa’s Push It, Afrika Bambaataa’s Planet Rock, Digable Planets’ Rebirth of Slick, Dead Prez’s Hip Hop, Faith Evans’ Love Like This, & even Louis Armstrong’s Wonderful World, as well as a few others. I also did some original stuff. I hadn’t used my loop pedal in a few months, so some of the beats I made on that were a lil bit sloppy, but I hope you enjoy!!

Musical Mammal, 2012 American Beatbox Championships, California

Musical Mammal I’ve been beatboxing for almost as long as I can remember. I recall listening to beatboxers like Doug E. Fresh, Rahzel, & Kenny Muhammad in elementary/jr. high school in utter amazement at the sounds their mouths were producing. I immediately fell in love. It began as a simple hobby used to cure my adolescent boredom, & slowly blossomed into an outright obsession. I’ve recently been getting a bit more involved in the beatbox community. I was actually a finalist in last year’s US Beatbox Championships (eliminated in the quarter-finals by JFlo). It was a wonderful experience, & I’m hoping to get another shot at it. www.americanbeatboxchampionships.com youtube.com
