This is a beat that actually sounds better with the bongo – I’ll upload a version with that at another time. Nice and fun, this one. You need to know… -Kick drum -Hi hat (closed) -Inward K snareUpdated on a regular basis this series will teach you various beats using a variety of sounds. A tricky beat that can be a real tongue twister. Done using the inward K. Great for practicing kick rolls. This beat is also a great example of an auditory illusion – if you get all the hi-hats right, they sound separated from the rest of the beat making it appear that you’re doing more than one sound at a time. Beatbox tutorial – Inward K snare

www.fattonybbx.com This is where things get more fun, certainly for me. The inward K snare is a tricky sound to get the hang of, but it means you can beatbox forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and… you get the point. To make the sound 1 – Put your tongue against the top of your mouth 2 – Suck air using your lungs and snap your tongue away from the side of your mouth to get the “K” sound 3 – For the “shh” afterwards continue inhaling – as the air rushes over your tongue you’ll get plenty of air and the nice sound!
